Our ECF calf feeding system is easy to clean. The feeders are made from high-quality PP material and are pressed firmly. The sides are flat, with no sharp edges. Additionally, the teat is designed to fit perfectly into the side of the bucket. This design is patented, ensuring that the inside of the bucket remains smooth and flat, and that the teat is always in the optimal position. The cavity is designed in such a way that the teat can only be inserted one way. This feature helps to minimize leftover milk.
Cleaning is the process of removing contaminants. Research has shown that the inside of the buckets contains the highest amount of bacteria. Cleaning the buckets daily can make a significant difference in maintaining hygiene. Hot water is key to achieving effective results, as it helps remove microorganisms.
When milk proteins and fats are left in the bucket, they can form a breeding ground for bacteria, multiplying rapidly. This process is exponential and can occur quickly in a moist environment with temperatures between 18 and 40°C. Pay attention to every corner and crevice, as these are places where leftover milk can accumulate. If these areas are difficult to reach with a sponge or brush, they provide ideal conditions for bacterial growth, which can endanger the health of the calf.
The ECF calf feeding system is designed without any holes or corners, making it easier to clean. However, this doesn’t mean it’s not important to maintain cleanliness. Rinse regularly with hot water and use appropriate cleaning products to ensure hygiene.
