The Wennemars® ECF Yellow Teat is developed especially for the first days after the calf is born. The ECF Yellow Teat is more flexible and has a larger opening for a greater milk flow. This is the ideal “learning teat” for calves.

Practical Advice
Use a previously used or yellow teat for the first colostrum feeding. For the second colostrum feeding, use a yellow ECF teat. When the calf is able to drink on its own, switch to the Wennemars® ECF Black Teat.
Be precise and do not let calves drink for to long from the yellow teat. If you let them use the yellow teat for to long, they will get used to a fast milk flow too quickly. This can lead to “suckers” (overindulgence). The calves may not feel satisfied with their amount of food. This is why we recommend changing the teat according to our guidelines to the ECF teat.
