Immediately grouping calves together brings many benefits:
A calf naturally drinks milk with its nose up. This is not without reason. Go with the animal’s nature; it works to your advantage
Feeding calves in their naturual posture prevent ruminant drinkers. The esophageal groove reflex works the best when calves have suck vigioursly. This way, the milk flows past the rumen into the abomasum. Suckling intensively for a long period with a slow milk flow has the advantage of promoting increased saliva production. This gives them more time to distribute the milk evenly.
Intensive suckling prevents sucklers and piss drinking. By feeding with the Wennemars® ECF6 drinker and Wennemars® ECF Teat you are assured that the milk flow comes slowly, with calves producing lots of saliva. Calves are tired and satisfied. At first, they lie down right away. After a few days, they start eating immediately after milk feeding.
Drinkers that are easy to keep clean, where the teat is easy to change and calves cannot throw the teat cup on the ground….These have been the key points in the development of our system.With the Hag family from Haaksbergen, we optimised it further.The Wennemars® ECF6 Adaptor has been made tiltable.It rotates on an M10 Bolt through or on the top tube.This allows the tray to drain and dry out between milkings.

The ECF6 Drinker is attached to an ECF6 adaptor.
This adaptor allows the ECF6 Drinker to be easily tilted on the fencing. For calf farming, we recommend two types of adaptors.Both adaptors can rotate on the fencing.This has a number of advantages:
An ECF6 Lock has been developed for a Swing Over so that play behaviour has no chance to knock the feeder of the fence. With the ECF6 Lock, you can lock the box at the collection hook.
